About Russo Marine
Russo Marine, New England’s leading powerboat dealer, is a third generation, family owned and operated marine business. The company was founded in 1940 by John Russo (1911-1994), and his wife Sandy (1911-). The business is head quartered at a highway location two miles north of Boston in Medford, Massachusetts. Russo Marine operates from three additional sales and service facilities and has over 40 employees. The enterprise is owned and operated by Larry Russo (son of John and Sandy), his wife Bee and their two sons Alex and Larry Jr.
John Russo was a founding member of the Massachusetts Marine Trades and the New England Marine Trades Associations in the 1950’s and 1960’s. Larry has continued in the family tradition of representing the interests of the marine industry and the consumers it serves. Larry was president of the Massachusetts trade group in 1983 and 1984, and was later elected president of the Marine Retailers Association of America in 1988 and 1989. He continues to serve on various state and national industry committees and in 2003, was elected to the board of directors of the Recreational Boating and Fishing Foundation.
In the 1990’s, a third generation of Russos took its place in the day to day operations of the family business. Larry Russo Jr., joined the company full time in 1992 after receiving a degree in business management and finance. His primary role is general manager. In 1994, after acquiring a business degree in marketing and retailing, Alex Russo has the responsibility of operations manager which encompasses employee resource management and sales administrative support.
